DAZN/United Boxing

Saturday, November 12th was Fight Night at the CAA Centre and Sports Complex in Brampton, Ontario. United Boxing Promotions put together an impressive card of Canadian and International talent for what they dubbed the "V for Victory" Event. The event was featured live on DAZN, and the boxers didn't disappoint, with each of the evenings bouts seemingly getting scrappier as the night wore on. The matches were highlighted by a number of strong showings by locals Canadians. Dylan Rushton survived a very bad cut and put up a massively gutsy performance, but ultimately couldn't match the hand speed of Helmand Meran Alekozai of Mississauga who took the win. Sara Haghighat Joo made her professional debut in a dominant performance against veteran Mexican fighter Nayeli Verde. Josh Wagner continued his unbeaten ways by stopping Yaser Yueksel of Germany midway through their bout. Josh O'Reilly floored Jorge Amaya Diaz of Mexico with a hard punch to end their match a few rounds in. Finally, in the main event, Shakeel Phinn outlasted Vladimir Belujsky of Ireland to take the decision in the last bout of the night. All around, it was an amazing night and the venue looked spectacular. Looking forward to the next event on January 23rd in Pickering.
