From October 28-30, Toronto played host to the world's most elite competitive swimmers. The FINA World Cup was staged at the Pan Am Centre north of the city, and it was truly a world class event. We are blessed to have such an incredible venue here in Toronto, and the Swim Canada and FINA organizing teams hosted a flawless competition. Swimmers joined from all over the world, including well known international and Olympic stars like Chad Le Clos, Kyle Chalmers and Katie Ledecky. But the Canadians put forward an incredibly strong field, led by none other than our own Maggie MacNeil. While Maggie and other familiar names like Kylie Masse and Summer McIntosh led the women's side, the men's team featured some lesser known (but very impressive performances) by the likes of Finley Knox, Javier Acevedo, and Josh Liendo Edwards. Between the professionalism and leadership of Swim Canada, and our young crop of rising stars, the future of swimming in Canada is very bright. Special thanks to Nathan White and team for their help and assistance over the 3-day event.
